My Momma (6 of 6 series)

Today is Mothers Day 2023...my 57th Mothers Day with my Mom. Now...I clearly don't remember all of these Mothers Days, but I definitely know that for every year I was able (except for one year when I was 21 and was being a brat) I have been very good about making certain my Mom felt appreciated and valued for all she has done for me in my life. After all, without her, I wouldn't even be here!

She tried for many years to get pregnant with me and when she finally did, she was told she wouldn't be able to carry me due to some "female" problems. She wouldn't have it! She did whatever she could to have me...thank you Mom for not giving up!

She got a part time job to pay for the extra things I needed. She would always say, "Your Dad makes the cake and I put the frosting on it!" I love that! She was very dedicated to taking me to Ballet and Ice Skating. She was my Girl Scout leader and has always been one of my greatest cheerleaders, but always makes sure my "head isn't too big". She definitely keeps me humble.

She is the reason I love holidays and celebrations. She is the reason I like things done a "certain way". She is sweet, kind, charming, friendly and has one of the most positive attitudes of anyone I have ever known. She is very well liked and beloved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is a True Matriarch!

I have learned so many things from my Mom and have such gratitude for her!

I am so lucky and blessed to have her still with me. I love her very much and thank God for her in my life!

PS: I just started to refer to her as "Momma" on her cards and such...she giggles every time she sees or hears it...so I'm keeping it!

About Me

_F2A9653_edited.jpg

I’m Lori Balderas, I created this podcast for those who are converting, reverting or simply want a FRESH perspective of the Catholic faith to help them to open their hearts and minds to become closer to the love and goodness of Christ.

I converted to Catholicism at the age of 49.  It was, by far, the best decision I’ve ever made! I don’t claim to be an expert or Theologian, but what I DO know is that my heart is bursting with love for the Lord and I want others to feel the same way!

I feel impassioned and drawn to Evangelize people by sharing my experiences and transformation that have gotten me where I am today.

I will be sharing my personal conversion story and speaking with others about theirs.
