Fresh Choice (Part 2 of 4)

Updated: Aug 28, 2023

It's not a secret that I struggle to make choices. It's also not a secret that I feel there are too many choices these days. I like less choices...I like simplicity. But, there appear to be plenty of choices whether I want them or not! UGH! Too many choices!

I almost feel like we are in such a "spoiled" and "entitled" world that demands "MORE CHOICES...MORE CHOICES"!!! "GIMMEE GIMMEE GIMMEE"! What this has done, in my opinion, is cause people to be a very dissatisfied group. I feel things aren't as valued or special anymore. Things are losing their magic and quality.

Take for example Christmas...the "presents" part of Christmas...most children tear through their presents. They don't savor each one. They just rip through the wrap, toss it to the side and grab for another one! If they knew they were only getting one or two presents, perhaps they would take their time, open it, admire it and appreciate it more! I feel children have too many toys and things. Too many choices of what to do and play. I feel it causes them to get bored easily or always be looking for the "next best thing" and actually, grown ups aren't much better! They always want the new "better" thing.

Don't you get frustrated or overwhelmed when you go to the market? How many types of cereal do we need?! Or trying to figure out what to watch? So many choices, that by the time you choose...it's time for bed! Just because there's more of something doesn't mean it's better!

I suppose it's nice to have choices, but honestly...I just think less is more!

About Me

_F2A9653_edited.jpg

I’m Lori Balderas, I created this podcast for those who are converting, reverting or simply want a FRESH perspective of the Catholic faith to help them to open their hearts and minds to become closer to the love and goodness of Christ.

I converted to Catholicism at the age of 49.  It was, by far, the best decision I’ve ever made! I don’t claim to be an expert or Theologian, but what I DO know is that my heart is bursting with love for the Lord and I want others to feel the same way!

I feel impassioned and drawn to Evangelize people by sharing my experiences and transformation that have gotten me where I am today.

I will be sharing my personal conversion story and speaking with others about theirs.
